A steady diet of PHP, CSS, HTML and SQL
October 9, 2008
I have outsourced to myself, if that is possible. In the past few weeks I have learned more about the alphabet soup of code that makes up the backbone of the Internet than I ever thought possible. But the end product is something I can be proud of — a password-protected course blog with an integrated discussion forum.
My students for the Law of Global Warming course were introduced to the course blog today, and I was greatly pleased with the response. While I was carrying on about how to operate in a WordPress blog, several students were taking the opportunity to do just that. By the end of the class there were several comments and posts up for me to have a look at. A prof cannot ask for more than that.
It’s always difficult to summarize weeks of work in a few short minutes, and I think it’s fair to say I left many questions unanswered about how the blog will work. Frankly, I am sure I will be learning quite a bit as I go along about administering a blog. This feels very different from a normal law school course already.
